Dr V Krishnakumari Nerney

Dr. Krishnakumari is a general practitioner who decided to practice privately after working for 14 years in the Gibraltar Health Service. She graduated from India and then worked in the UK for 10 years before moving to Gibraltar. She worked in Obstetrics & Gynaecology for a number of years before changing specialities and settling down as a general practitioner. She has a post-graduate degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology ( Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, UK) and in General Practice ( Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, UK). She devotes a fair share of her time reading medical literature and attending courses relevant to her work.

She is a firm believer that disease prevention should be a GP’s prime concern and a GP is in an ideal situation to practise holistic medicine. She therefore devotes a large share of her time to health checks in men & women.

Apart from dealing with and being up to date on everyday problems in general practice, her special interests are contraception, gynaecological scanning, menopause and its management, women’s health and illnesses, cryotherapy and the bugbears of the developed world, hypertension and diabetes, and obesity.

She is registered with the General Medical Council in the UK.
